Clash(Battle) of Badr

17 th Ramadhan 2 A.h

Furthermore undoubtedly Allah aided you at Badr when you were frail, so be watchful (to your obligation) to Allah so you may be of the grateful ones. When you said to the professors 'Does it not suffice you that your Lord ought to support you with three thousand blessed messengers sent down.."

Suratul Aali Imran 3:123 & 124

Place: Badr (80 miles from Medina)

Muslim Army: 313 men, chiefly infantry with 2 steeds & 70 camels

Kuffar armed force: 1000 men, chiefly riders with 100 steeds and 700 camels

Muslim saints: 14

Kuffar executed: 72 out of which 36 slaughtered by Imam Ali (A.s)

Fight won by Muslims

The clash of Badr was the first of the incredible clashes of Islam.

At the point when the Prophet heard the news that there was an exchange procession going to Syria from Makka under the authority of Abu Sufiyan, he sent two men to assemble data about it. It was found that it was a vast troop in which all the Makkans had offers. The Quraysh had chosen to put all their reserve funds into it and utilize the benefits on arms, steeds and different things of war to use against the Muslims.

The news was exasperating. The Prophet (S.a.w) left Medina with 313 men, 2 steeds and 70 camels to go to Badr which was a ceasing point for the aravans.

The Quraysh had reallocated all the property of every last one of Muslims who had left Makka for Medina and the Prophet thusly chose to usurp the property of the troop in remuneration.

Abu Sufyan dreaded an assault from the Muslims and sent a flag-bearer to Makka letting them know of his apprehensions. On accepting the message, a multitude of 1000 men, 100 steeds and 700 camels under the administration of Abu Jahl left Makka to go to Badr.

Then Abu Sufyan took an alternate course once again to Makka staying away from Badr. When he was back in Makka he called Abu Jahl yet Abu Jahl was excessively glad and needed to pound the Muslims with his huge armed force.

The two armed forces met at Badr on seventeenth Ramadhan 2 A.h.

Before all else according to Arab custom, single battle (balanced) occurred. The renowned Quraysh warriors Utbah, Shayba and Walid came to test three "Ansars" from Medina. The Quraysh declined to battle any of the 'Ansaars', requesting their "equivalents" thus the Prophet (S.a.w) sent Ubayda, Hamza and Imam Ali (A.s). The three Kuffar were murdered (Ubayda was harmed). The Quraysh got bothered and started assaulting all at once.

In the thick of the fight, the Prophet appealed to Allah.

In Surat-ul Anfal Allah gave the answer:

"When you requested assistance from your Lord, He addressed you. To be sure I will support you with a thousand of the heavenly attendants in lines behind columns".

Suratul Anfal 8:9

The adversaries got terrified and started to withdraw. The ability of Imam Ali (A.s), the other Muslim fighters and the sight of such a variety of heavenly attendants struck fear in the foes hearts. 72 Kuffar were executed including their pioneer Abu Jahl. Imam Ali (A.s) murdered 36 of them. 14 Muslims were martyred.

70 detainees were taken by the Muslims. The detainees were treated with benevolence and some got to be Muslims. In later days a portion of the detainees said: "favored be the men of Medina, they made us ride whilst they strolled, they provided for us wheat and bread to consume when there was little of it contenting themselves with plain dates." The rich detainees paid payment and were situated free. Others were asked to addition their opportunity by showing 10 Muslims to peruse and compose.

The skirmish (battle) of Badr reinforced the confidence of the Muslims.
